In the summer of 1984 when gas only cost $1.19/gallon, Randy Brown II, the founder of Countryside, could be found mowing the lawns of Lake Lotawana. Since Randy II was still too young for a drivers license, he transported his push mower to each and every client's yard with a fishing boat.  As time passed his parents and his two younger sisters committed full time to his dream.  He built Countryside on the idea of “Quality, not Quantity”. He believes in taking care of the community and his employees along the way, all the while ensuring customer satisfaction.

Now over 30 years later, Randy II no longer needs the boat for transportation, but still has some of those original lawns.  Countryside has developed from that boat and push mower to a 10 acre site with ample room for offices, shop, storage and the crew.  Over the years, Countryside has expanded and developed new capabilities in landscaping, waterscaping, lightscaping, and hardscaping.  While our services and company size has changed, we have never lost sight of our original commitment to “Quality, not Quantity.”

You just can't beat good dirt. With it, grass puts down deep roots, trees grow strong and tall, plants bloom and brighten our day, Mother Nature smiles.

Here at Countryside, we like to think of ourselves as good dirt.  We'd like to be the soil that grows our community, cultivates our youth, and graces the surrounding spaces. Countryside sponsors local youth athletic teams and Randy II coaches on occasion. We work with nearby churches to build their community gardens. In 2012 and in association with the Make-a-Wish Foundation, Countryside Scapes helped create a dream wedding that was featured on My Fair Wedding with David Tutera. Randy II and crew landscaped the interior setting with live balled and burlaped trees!
